Filming on Tuesday 19th January - Year 10 I.T class hard at work;
Filming the interview with cast member Lucy Wood on Thursday 21st January - she looks a little too happy to be a bully victim...
We took a few tester shots to give me some ideas for ancillary product images; however will not be using this camera as the quality is not sufficient
Because we filmed in Countesthorpe College the computers did not allow us to use Facebook or any other social networking site; so Lucy had to google images of a Facebook profile and enlarge the pictures...

EDITING:
Editing in iMovie 22/01/2016:
Today I began to upload the shots that I had filmed and sorted through them in a new project on iMovie; I managed to create 1 minute and 15 seconds worth of production just using shots of the college, school children, computers and an aerial shot of the college premises. To edit the shots I stabilised any shaky sequences and adjusted the colours/lighting of each shot using colour match to ensure that there is consistency throughout the production.
To edit each clip in detail I used precision editing where I was able to go straight to one little clip and edit the moving image down to the second; I used precision editing particularly during the application of transitions between shots so that the transitions could be subtly introduced in order to create a consistent flow throughout the production.

Construction and Drafting of Ancillary Product 1:
After conducting a variety of research into different print ancillary products such as billboards, newspaper ads and webpage adverts I had a good idea of what style I was aiming to achieve in the presentation of my print advert. I wanted to use a main image relating to something similar of the topics explored in the narrative of the documentary. To do this I used the main character - the victim of cyber bullying used in the documentary - and took a variety of medium close ups, medium long shots and close up profile shots of Lucy on a computer (cyber element subtly embedded). Using these images that I took on a Nikon D3100 camera I chose the best few shots and began to edit and change them to create a look that I was happy with to fit the Channel 4 brand identity.
Using photoshop programmes on the school's MacBook's such as Fireworks, and an app on my iPhone called 'whitagram' I used a smart colour tool where the background of the image is black and white and the character appears in colour to create a contrast to the background. I edited a few of the images in this way so that I had a choice of images to choose from and so that I could use some of the images for the second ancillary product. Here are the two main images that I used;
After already choosing the font style and colours that I am going to use I was able to go straight into construction when I had edited the images, here is one of the three drafts that I created for my first ancillary product;
Here is a second draft;
I felt that the image lighting and contrast settings needed adjusting to create a more realistic yet intense tone to the poster. I went back and changed the contrast settings to 60% and the brightness settings to 50%;
Editing in PaintDotNet and Photoshop:
For the editing of the second ancillary product I used two different Photoshop software's as I wanted to try more than one software to see what changes and differences I could do with the image and with the double page spread. This is a screenshot of the editing that I did in Adobe Photoshop where you have to use different layers to create a final product, on each layer you can make changes to the product that you are editing e.g. image, text, shapes. The tabs at the side meant that I could change the photo even further after having edited the image already using Smart Colour (the same software used for the first ancillary image).
I changed the width and height of the page to make the pages correct for an a3 double page spread to fit the conventions of a magazines double page spread.
